Introduction On December 26, 2024, Korea’s National Assembly passed the Artificial Intelligence Framework Act (the “Act”). This marks a significant milestone in the country’s regulatory framework for artificial intelligence (“AI”) technologies. Designed to guide the development and deployment of AI, the Act comes into effect in January 2026. It is expected to lay the groundwork for AI innovation while protecting individuals and businesses in high-impact areas such as public safety and individual rights.
