As a senior foreign attorney (Russia) in Jipyong’s Global Business, Mr. Seungmin Lee serves as the head of the Global Business group while actively advising clients on general corporate, cross-border investment, M&A, overseas construction matters and matters relating to Russia, Central Asia, Mongolia, Central and Eastern Europe, India, the Middle East, and Africa matters.

In particular, Mr. Lee has extensive experience in advising Korean companies on their entry investments in and transactions with Russia and Central Asia. Notable cases include: advising the construction unit of Samsung C&T Corp. on the construction of a skyscraper for the headquarters of Gazprom; advising Incheon International Airport Corporation on the sale of an equity interest in Khabarovsk Airport in Russia; advising KB Kookmin Bank on the sale of an equity interest in a Kazakhstani bank; advising POSCO International on the acquisition of an equity interest in a Russian forestry development company; advising Korea Western Power Co., Ltd. on the establishment of a joint venture (JV) with a Russian state-owned enterprise and on matters relating to a project in Russia; advising a real estate special assets fund established by Consus Asset Management on the due diligence in connection with a loan, the execution of financing agreements, and the recovery of the loan with regard to a hotel located in Russia; and advising Lotte Hotels & Resorts on a franchise agreement for franchise business in Russia.

In addition, Mr. Lee has successfully represented Korean companies in payment claims, invalidity claims relating to rights, and defense of management control, with satisfactory results.

After 2022, Mr. Lee provides comprehensive and strategic legal solutions to clients on sanctions-related matters, including various regulatory reviews and exit strategy reviews, due to economic sanctions against Russia.
