Mr. Brian Kim is a Senior Advisor in the Finance Group. Prior to joining the firm, he served for 27 years with the Korea Exchange in various capacities, supervising listings, disclosures and derivatives transactions.
From 2015 to 2016, Mr. Kim was an executive officer of the KOSPI Market Division, supervising disclosures. As a member of the Listings and Disclosures Committee, he was responsible for sanctioning listed companies for bad faith disclosures, making him an indispensable resource for clients responding to bad faith disclosure allegations.
In addition, as a member of the Corporate Review Committee, Mr. Kim was responsible for the review of listed companies subject to delisting, giving him a regulator’s perspective in advising clients in overcoming delisting risks and making a new leap forward. He also led the disclosures team in the KOSDAQ Market Division for 3 years, which enables him to advise clients on bad faith disclosures and substantial delisting review issues in both the KOSPI and KODSAQ markets.
During his years with the Korea Exchange, Mr. Kim contributed to the revitalization of the stagnant IPO market by spearheading the listing revitalization policy of the Korea Exchange. He also devoted his efforts toward persuading leading domestic and foreign companies to list, which resulted in approximately 20 successful IPOs (in the KOSPI Market Division) in 2015 and 2016. In particular, he successfully arranged the listings of Doosan Bobcat, LS Cable & System Asia and Hwaseung. As a former member of the Listings Committee, he is able to provide insightful and practical advice and assistance on all issues relating to IPO preparation, drawing on his hands-on experience and knowledge of key issues in listing reviews and matters that require close attention during listing preparation.
