Jipyong’s Criminal Defense Group (the “Group”) is composed of attorneys with extensive hands-on experience and expertise in all levels of the courts, the prosecutors’ offices, and the National Police Agency.
Our Group includes former Justice of the Constitutional Court, Justice of the Supreme Court, Chief Judges and Senior Judges of District Courts, Deputy Prosecutor Generals, Senior Prosecutors, District Prosecutors and graduates of the Korean National Police University. With such a deep bench of experts, our Group provides our clients with comprehensive and systematic defense representation in criminal cases ranging from the investigation stage to the Supreme Court.

As criminal cases have become increasingly complex due to the specialization and diversification of legal regimes, the Group organizes custom-tailored task force teams to provide a fully specialized and integrated one-stop legal service for our clients.
The scope of legal service areas that such task force teams cover are corporate cases, accounting and finance cases, and cases regarding the violation of the Capital Markets Act, violation of the Fair Trade Act, violation of election law, violation of labor law, and IPR crime.

The Group also operates several permanent task teams reinforced by relevant attorneys from other groups at Jipyong to respond comprehensively to areas that require high degrees of expertise such as serious industrial accident cases, financial securities, taxation, customs, foreign exchange and finance, technology leakage and trade secrets, and virtual assets.

Jipyong has eight overseas branches located in Moscow, Russia; Shanghai, China; Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Vietnam; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Vientiane, Laos; Jakarta, Indonesia; and Yangon, Myanmar.
Through a close and efficient collaboration with the attorneys at our overseas branches who are versed in their respective domestic laws, the Group has been effectively advising and defending our corporate clients and Koreans residing in those countries on various criminal cases.
