Jipyong Wins the Best Litigation Award, Best Advisory Award, and Special Award (Social Contribution Award) at the 8th Korea Legal Awards

<p style="text-align: justify;">On December 11, 2025, Jipyong received the Best Litigation Award, the Best Advisory Award, and the Special Award (Social Contribution Award) at the 8th Korea Legal Awards 2025, held at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul.<br />

The Korea Legal Awards is an annual awards ceremony jointly hosted by Money Today, the Seoul Bar Association, the Korea In-House Counsel Association, and the Korea Legal Aid Corporation, organized by Money Today’s legal news platform, “theL”, which honors excellence in expertise and performance across practice areas.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">Jipyong and Duroo secured a Supreme Court ruling recognizing state liability for a prolonged failure to adequately remedy an unconstitutional legislative framework that infringed upon the accessibility rights of persons with disabilities.  The existing Enforcement Decree excluded small-scale retail stores and similar facilities with a floor area of under 300 square meters from accessibility installation requirements, which effectively exempted roughly 95% of small-scale public facilities from the obligation to install accessibility facilities and thereby infringing the accessibility rights of persons with disabilities.<br />
<br />
After a public hearing, the Supreme Court rendered a decision recognizing the State’s liability for damages by the unanimous opinion of all Justices.  The ruling is significant as the Supreme Court’s first recognition of accessibility rights for persons with disabilities as constitutionally protected fundamental rights, and as a decision recognizing the unlawfulness of a prolonged failure to adequately remedy an unlawful legislative framework.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">Jipyong advised a leading Korean AI semiconductor start-up developing next-generation Neural Processing Unit (NPU)-based AI semiconductors and software for global expansion, providing an integrated compliance strategy across Korean and international export control regimes.  As AI semiconductors become a focal point of global technological competition and U.S.-led export controls on China continue to expand, Jipyong established a comprehensive “AI Semiconductor Technology Security Total Compliance” framework spanning the full product lifecycle, from early-stage design through testing, sampling, and preparations for future commercialization, to support the company’s stable participation in global supply chains.<br />

Jipyong and Duroo authored and distributed the “2025 Legal Manual for Children and Youth,” which covers day-to-day legal issues facing children and young people, including child abuse and domestic violence, labor, finance, sexual exploitation and sexual violence, online violence, birth registration, adoption, child support, parental rights, and minor guardianship.<br />
<br />
Since 2014, Jipyong and Duroo have provided free legal education to children and youth.  To extend that support to a broader audience, the two organizations have distilled more than a decade of educational content and counseling resources into a practical, user-oriented manual.<br />
<br />
The manual includes key topics such as birth registration and child support claims, labor rights, credit and debt issues including guarantees and fraud, child abuse, personal information protection, defamation, cybercrime, sexual exploitation, domestic violence, sexual violence, and dating violence.  The manual also explains complex legal issues in a structured Q&A format suitable for children and youth and, by practice area, provides a curated directory of relevant agencies that can be contacted directly in the event of legal difficulties.<br />
