Jipyong Names Dong Ho YOO Vietnam Head, Joo Yeon SHIN HCMC Head

In February 2026, Jipyong appointed Senior Foreign Attorney Dong Ho YOO as the Head of Jipyong Vietnam and Attorney Joo Yeon SHIN as the Head of Jipyong’s Ho Chi Minh City Office. 
 
Since its establishment in 2000, Jipyong has maintained its strategic focus on international markets. Beginning with the launch of its Shanghai office in 2007, the firm has steadily expanded its global footprint and currently operates 9 overseas offices across 8 countries, the largest international network among Korean law firms. Since entering the Vietnamese market in 2007, Jipyong has leveraged its extensive cross-border experience and deep regional expertise to deliver integrated, locally embedded legal solutions. 
 
Starting February 2026, Mr. YOO, the Head of Jipyong’s Hanoi Office, served a dual role as Head of Jipyong Vietnam and the Head of the Hanoi Office, overseeing the firm’s Vietnam-wide practice. Simultaneously, Attorney Joo Yeon SHIN, following a ten-year tenure at Jipyong’s Ho Chi Minh City Office, served as the Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Office. Operating under a unified ‘One Office’ system, our Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City offices maintain integrated, real-time collaboration to maximize operational efficiency and strategic synergy across Vietnam.  
 
Ho Chi Minh City Office  
 
Jipyong’s Ho Chi Minh City Office was established in 2007 in Vietnam’s economic hub to provide systematic and comprehensive legal counsel for Korean enterprises entering and operating in the Vietnamese market. 
 
The office is led by Senior Foreign Attorney Dong Ho YOO, the Head of Jipyong Vietnam, who oversees the firm’s Vietnam-wide operations, and Attorney Joo Yeon SHIN, the Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Office. Leveraging their extensive practical experience in M&A, banking, and securities, Jipyong’s Ho Chi Minh City Office delivers localized legal excellence tailored to meet the complex needs of clients. 
 
Distinguished by a strong team of expert practitioners, the office specializes in diverse practice areas, including real estate development, dispute resolution, and labor law. Notably, Foreign Attorney Tran Thi Phuong Trang, who has provided pivotal support to a diverse range of clients since its establishment, working alongside Foreign Attorney Dang Van Ky Anh, who brings deep expertise in Vietnamese competition law, including merger filings, drawn from her extensive experience at a Korea-affiliated law firm, play key roles in advancing the firm’s Vietnam practice. 
 
Hanoi Office 
 
Jipyong’s Hanoi Office was established in January 2009 to strengthen the firm’s legal presence in the capital and the northern region, building upon its established strategic successes in Ho Chi Minh City. Since 2013, Senior Foreign Attorney Dong Ho YOO has led the office, delivering integrated legal solutions grounded in his extensive cross-border experience and deep regional expertise. 
 
The office is distinguished by the largest team of local attorneys and specialists among Korean law firms in Hanoi. The team includes Yong Jae JEONG, who brings significant experience as former in-house counsel for a major Korean securities firm; Foreign Attorney Nguyen Thi Huong, formerly of Kelvin Chia Partnership, a Singapore-based law firm; Foreign Attorney Bui Thi Mai, who served as a senior attorney at the finance-specialized firm BASICO; and Foreign Attorney Nguyen Ha Ly, formerly of the M&A team at VILAF.
