Jipyong Jisung’s Finance Practice Group, in cooperation with the firm’s Laos office, successfully advised on the enactment of the Securities Act of Laos as requested by the Ministry of Justice of Korea.  We reviewed the draft of the Securities Act prepared by the Laos government and held seminars in Laos and Seoul.  We also gave a lecture regarding the development history of Korean capital markets and provided legal advisory services to make sure that the Securities Act can be best tailored to the circumstances in Laos.  The Laos government proposed to the National Assembly the bill for the Securities Act as modified pursuant to the legal advice provided by the Ministry of Justice of Korea, the Korea Stock Exchange and Jipyong Jisung, and the Securities Act was passed by the National Assembly of Laos on December 20, 2012.
